Mari Merangkai Bunga Seroja
Bandung, Indonesia / 2023

Mari Merangkai Bunga Seroja is a spatial alteration project that transforms a warehouse and boarding house into a casual dining space. It is intricately woven with the existing functions of Bakery and the production team. The background of one of the founders (Faza), who has Malay heritage, and the sense of belonging to Kampung Kota Tamansari, serves as the basis for the development of the idea behind MMBS. MMBS aims to present Pavlova, a dessert made from meringue and topped with various flowers and fruits, as a supporting element in the interior design. We attempts to translate this concept into a colorful play of colors applied to the walls, railings, and even appliances, which are balanced with plywood materials. The stairs, wooden structure on the second floor, railings, and exhaust system play important roles in the design of MMBS. This is emphasized by the grid pattern on the second-floor and contrasting colors inspired by Pavlova.
