Earth in the Forest

The main concern in designing this house is determining the ideal construction located in the forest. No matter how small the construction, it will give an impact on the surrounding area, that is why we try to place this house with care. We propose the location of the house on the main road area of the farmhouse, with the consideration that it can reduce the impact of transportation, energy and facilitate the access needed in the later development process.

We place the main room area (rammed earth) at the edge of the northern forest area, which aims to prevent houses from blocking access to the forest. Then we tried to add a floating roof element inspired by the Floating Roof by Oton Jugovec building as a gate that separates the forest area and the farmhouse. Also, the space below can be used for various activities such as social activities, markets, and others so that the forest area can become a living area, and hopefully, it will be maintained by these activities.
