The Joy Space
Busua, Ghana / 2023
In the village of Busua, the people built their buildings at a close distance. It develops the hallways and voids in the middle of the habitation. Those spaces become a social place for children to play and adults to gather. It shows the community to grow and live together and create comfortable hospitality. I take this idea to contextualize the new facilities, making the school like a home and a playground. I place the new buildings close to each other and create many hallways and voids that have different purposes for students to learn and play. Moreover, those spaces create a cross-wind circulation for the buildings and make the site cooler.
